Log onto Toys 56, 57, 58, 59, 60 from Virtual Quilter

I have hidden some toys in amongst the logs for this weeks mid week Log Cabin retreat.

I wonder how many toys are being wrapped up each day at the moment.

Love the design above.

At a Christmas lunch a few days ago the man next to me found a tiny little spinning top in a Christmas cracker. I had to test it out, and it worked beautifully. It just kept spinning, but it was way too small for a small child to be allowed to play with it, but it kept me and the gentleman amused for a few ...

Some Log Cabin quilts full of toys for those in the northern parts of the world.

I am starting to put the toys inside the Log Cabin blocks. Only doll so far, but I have learned that toys have to be twisted and turned inside the log framework.

The guards are on duty!

The dolls are in a spin!

My favourite from this selection is the last one.

Interesting design!

Every time I look at this project file I think of coaters for the table rather than quilts for the bed!

More blocks now, and it looks more like a quilt.

Another interesting design, and my favourite.

The last one looks more like Christmas colours.

More Log Cabin designs, mid week, next week

Toy soldiers in formation, with the senior officer inspecting from the rear.

Now the senior officer is leading his men in a Christmas parade!

I love baby blocks as a quilter, and loved building with baby blocks a long time ago, then watching my children building and knocking them down … now love watching a new generation doing exactly the same thing.

Should have mixed up some balls with the blocks as a tower of blocks is a great target for a rolling ball.

Love an old fashioned collection of toys!

More Log Cabin designs mid week, next week!

Christmas Logs 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 from Virtual Quilter

Yes, a second mid week retreat especially for quilters. I think most of us could use a bit of a break, however short, at this time of the year.

I like the second design in this second collection of designs for today!

Wow!

Interesting.

Nice one to end this collection of designs … more log Cabin designs, mid week next week

Looking at them all together, my favourite of these is the second one.

Christmas Logs 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 from Virtual Quilter

Last of the Mid Week Log Cabin Retreats for 2020 today … five designs using Log Cabin blocks to look at during a coffee break.

Perhaps I could change to Mid Week Log Cabin Coffee Break … but the design above might need a second cup of coffee to take in all the variations of the Log Cabin block design.

Interesting arrangement of an interesting mixture of Log Cabin variations.

I need another coffee to think about what quilt motifs ot add to the design above.

I think I will keep having a mid week retreat so I can have several coffee ...

Time to think about toys for Christmas. We do not have grandchildren but some local family members do have young children, and are close enough to visit, so the toy box has been dusted off and placed in a prominent position.

I wonder if any of those children would recognise a spinning top if we had one? It would be fun showing them, and I suspect there may be a few other toys in our collection they won’t recognise.

I had to have black and brown dolls for some extended family when they were little … they wanted dolls to ...
